Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) continue their ongoing IPL 2025 campaign by taking on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their upcoming match. Both sides will face off at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in the 57th game of the tournament on Wednesday, May 07. Kolkata will be coming into the clash after registering a one-run win over Rajasthan Royals at the same venue. The recent win has kept their hopes alive to stay in the race for a playoff berth. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side will look to win all their remaining games and hope other team results land in their favour. On the other hand, the MS Dhoni-led side is coming off its fourth consecutive defeat. Being the first team to be eliminated this season, the Yellow Army has a good opportunity to spoil other teams' parties. Notably, CSK has had an upper hand over the Men in Purple in the past and will look to better that.

Best economical pick – KKR's star spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has always put his hand up whenever the team is in a tough spot. With 15 wickets in his last 11 matches, the mystery bowler has been KKR's highest wicket-taker this season so far. Chakaravarthy, who is well-versed with the pitch conditions, will be looking to use them to his advantage and bamboozle the CSK batters. 

Top captains & vice captains – Sam Curran is a talented all-rounder and scored 88 runs a few games back. He will also bowl a few oves which makes him a good captaincy pick. Angkrish Raghuvanshi could be the best batter in the upcoming game against the Chennai Super Kings. With 285 runs in his last 10 innings, the right-hand batter has been a dependable batter for the defending champions so far. The young batter is coming off a solid 44-run cameo against the Rajasthan Royals and will be hoping to carry on the same momentum.

Smart pick – Noor Ahmad is a quality spinner and conditions will suit him and he will be a top pick against this opposition. He has picked up 16 wickets in eleven matches this season.

Cautious Pick – Deepak Hooda has struggled significantly in IPL 2025 so far, scoring just 31 runs in five innings at a poor average of 6.20, failing to make any meaningful impact for Chennai Super Kings. Given this underwhelming form and lack of contributions, it would be reasonable to avoid picking him in your fantasy team.
